A self-made entrepreneur, veteran Xiang Zhongxiao founded Xiaoshan County Guangming Transformer Factory, starting from a rural workshop with only rudimentary equipment. He transplanted the military's "zero-defect, strict-standard" approach to ordnance maintenance into transformer production, establishing quality as the company's foremost value. Under his leadership, the enterprise has grown step by step into one of China's top ten transformer manufacturers and a national-level "Little Giant" enterprise recognized for specialization, refinement, uniqueness, and innovation. The "Qianchao" trademark was designated as a China Well-Known Trademark. The company's products are exported to over 70 countries and regions worldwide, serving major national projects including the Beijing Olympic Games, the G20 Summit, and the Hangzhou Asian Games. When the company encountered industry downturns and overseas market barriers, he led the team in sustained R&D investment, accumulating nearly 300 patents and spearheading the drafting of national transformer standards. With fifty years of deep commitment to the manufacturing industry, he has created employment for thousands. He is also active in local charity, disaster relief donations, and rural development, and has been honored as a Hangzhou Model Worker. Xiang Zhongxiao has consistently shouldered the responsibility of honoring veterans in his capacity as an old soldier. His company gives priority to employing veterans, has long sponsored the district's "August 1st Tribute · Warmth for Soldiers" public welfare project, and provides targeted assistance to hundreds of households of disadvantaged veterans and active-duty military families each year. He is an outstanding representative of veteran entrepreneurs whom the District Party Committee and District Government commend and visit as a priority.
